What everyone has to keep in mind when looking at the number that Texas Comptroller Susan Combs came out with today is that it’s extremely likely to be wrong. And Texas had been neglected many things even before the draconian cuts of the last legislative session. The no brainers are to put back the money cut from public education and the safety net, since Texas needs to educate the youth and bring down the number of uninsured. Not to mention build roads, and a water plan. This awl boom ain’t goin’ to last forever. But, of course, the wing nuts want to cut taxes, which will just cause another massive shortfall once the bust hits.
