The Definition Of Insanity

Posted in Around The State, Bad Government Republicans, Commentary, Cronyism, Elections at 9:04 am by wcnews

Why is it that whenever a Bush crony comes slinking home from D.C., at least those that are not facing possible criminal charges like Rove and Gonzalez, they’re rumored to be running for statewide office in the future? The latest is Karen Hughes who has given up on trying to destroy fix our country’s image in the Middle East, kind of a mute moot point as long as Bush and Cheney are in charge. I mean she’s perfect. She’s already written a bad book that quickly made it to the $1 clearance rack at Half Price Books.

Dan Bartlett, newly signed on with Public Strategies, has expressed his interest in running for public office some day, and there’s been talk that Margaret Spellings might give it a try (I plan to ask her myself when she comes to town on Saturday). Hughes, though, was the rare staffer who had a constituency–the suburban soccer moms–from her work for the state Republican Party and from giving speeches and from being Bush’s alter ego and doing it well. It is possible that she has lost her taste for electoral politics–who can blame her?–and she can certainly make a living on honoraria alone. But I think she’d be a formidable candidate if she chooses to run.

Don Evans, Margaret Spellings, Karen Hughes, Dan Bartlett.

I mean do Republicans in Texas even want these people coming back here and running for office so they can screw up this state, and their party, the way they have on a national scale? Let’s hope voters will choose to keep them as consultants if the do choose to run. Expecting a different result from these people here in Texas would be insane.

I think you meant “moot point,” but it would be nice if Karen Hughes would be mute.

Thanks for the catch. At least once a day I wish I had an editor/proofreader.

Regarding the return of these illustrious Bushies: In the words of their president: “Bring ‘em on!”

Low hanging fruit for the Dems in any election they undertake!
