Speaker Who?
Yesterday Craddick appeared to have a good day and now today it appears he’s gone, er, no he still has a chance. This is fun, it’s gone from day-to-day to minute-to-minute.
If you don’t want to follow the links today’s big news is that McCall is going to endorse Pitts, game over. There’s a lot of rumors swirling around, of course. One is Pitts getting McCall’s endorsement then dropping and saving Craddick. Senfronia Thompson, will get back in. What if Pitts was the candidate to take Craddick down all along. McCall ran before, no harm if he announces and the whole thing fizzles, he wasn’t a committe chair to begin with. If things go well, he draws the Democrats in but he can’t win, because only the Democrats like him. Voila, a compromise candidate emerges that the Democrats can stomach, ABC, and enough Republicans get on board to finish the job. That’s the scenario today. I’m sure tomorrow’s news will point to something completely different.
