Fill His Boots

Posted in Uncategorized at 11:07 am by wcnews

In a continuing effort to raise awareness, support, and money among regular people like us about Rick Noriega, a regular person like us, his campaign manager, Sue Schechter, sent an email urging us to send what we can to raise $20K before Lt. Col Noriega returns form Army Precommand leadership training in Fort Benning, GA on Thursday. Click here to donate.Click “read the rest..” to read the email.

When Rick Noriega asked me to formally join his race for U.S. Senate, a campaign was already underway. Not a traditional political operation, but a groundswell of thousands of Texans and Americans, banding together to change Texas and Washington — the Draft Noriega campaign. Thousands of you saw in Rick a candidate who could bring real leadership to Texas and this country, a candidate who would inspire new people to join in the democratic process — not just Democrats but Independents and Republicans, as well. With this amazing base of support, I was proud to join Rick as he answered the call and announced his candidacy for U.S. Senate.

Last week, you once again showed the power of our Noriega grassroots campaign when Melissa Noriega asked you to help fill in for Rick. Since Rick left for his Army Precommand leadership training in Fort Benning, GA, the Noriega grassroots have filled Rick’s boots, so to speak, raising over $12,000 for our campaign. Today, I am asking you to help us reach our goal of raising $20,000 by Thursday, August 23, when Rick returns from Fort Benning.

Fill Rick’s boots and help us raise $20,000 by this Thursday. Please contribute to our campaign today!

This campaign is going to be tough. Rick is a regular Texan who has devoted himself to public service, not personal wealth. Meanwhile, John Cornyn’s war chest is being filled by the corporate special interests who owe him for putting their personal agendas ahead of what’s right for Texas.

But this campaign isn’t going to be won by simply throwing money at the Texas voters. Some candidates have tried that in the past, without much success.

We’re going to win because we have the right candidate, the right message, and the grassroots support. But make no mistake, we have to grow our grassroots base to win. To grow our support, we’re going to need the funds to get our message out.

Let’s show Rick he has the support to win! Please make a contribution, and “Fill Rick’s Boots” today.

As Melissa told you last week, Rick will be spending his second consecutive week away from the campaign in Fort Benning, GA. Your continued support ensures we continue our momentum, while Rick is away serving our country.

Please contribute $1000, $100, $10 or whatever you can afford before our Thursday deadline. Every single dollar raised makes a difference.

I can’t thank you enough for everything you do.

Sincerely,

Sue Schechter
Campaign Manager
Rick Noriega for Texas
Democrat for U.S. Senate

P.S. Once you’ve made a contribution to our campaign, please forward this message to five of your friends. Encourage them to join our campaign today!

I will remind readers at the Eye that Noriega does not call himself a Democrat on any of his campaign literature or his campaign videos or his campaign Web site. Whether he remains a Democrat or switches to become a Republican, before or after his election, is still unclear. Beware of DINO’s!

Please stop posting false accusations like this. It’s getting sad. It was proven in response to your previous comment that he does indeed say he’s a Democrat. As it does in the email above.

Sorry. I’m not trying to bring anyone down. I’ll feel better when we hear it from Noriega.

“I’m not trying to bring anyone down”!? Stop it already. You’ve accused him of switching parties twice now, and present no evidence of that possibility. It’s obvious to anyone who’s not looking for a reason to “bring (someone) down” that he’s always been and Democrat and always will be a Democrat.
