Total primary turnout in Williamson county was 17.33% The Democrats outvoted the Republicans 63.94% to 36.06% Republican primary voting was up more than 3000 votes from 2004; however Republican turnout among registered voters was down from 6.98% to 6.25%

Democratic turnout went from 1.78% to 11.08%, a nearly eight-fold increase.

Looking ahead to election day Tuesday, EOW is now predicting 28% turnout. That would add another 38,000 to the 23,250 who already voted in the Democratic primary.
