Rep. Mike Krusee (R-Williamson County) Arrested For DWI

Posted in HD-52, Williamson County at 11:22 am by wcnews

From the AAS:

A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper arrested and charged state Rep. Mike Krusee, R-Williamson County, with drunken driving late Wednesday, authorities said today.

Krusee was booked into the Williamson County Jail at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday and was released at 8:55 a.m. today, officials said. His bail was set at $1,000.

DPS spokeswoman Tela Mange said a trooper spotted a vehicle on Anderson Mill, eastbound from U.S. 183 with an expired registration and being driven erratically. Mange said the trooper noticed a strong smell of alcohol and administered a field sobriety test, which she said Krusee failed.

She said Krusee refused a Breathalyzer test.

Krusee could not immediately be reached for comment.

Our District’s State Representative was arrested this week on charges of drunken driving. The Trooper saw his tags were out and his driving was erratic. He pulled him over and says he stunk of booze. Krusee says he had one glass of wine…Must have been good stuff…probably paid for by toll road funds. He arrested the honorable Mr Krusee and took him off to Wilco for a night on the hard holding tank benches that make Wilco Jail so popular with its clientale.
Innocent until proven guilty is the American way. Let’s hope that our State Representative is not guilty of drunken driving. Troopers smelling alcohol is certainly subjective…All of Austin smells like alcohol at some time or another through the course of the day. The field sobriety test is almost impossible to pass. Most Texans have grown up cracking beers in the car, eatin’ cheese and crackers on the way up the dirt road to the farm and such. Refusing the breathalyzer is a tactic taught by all attorneys at every late night poker game in every Judge’s chamber from Austin County to Amarillo. So why the big flap over the Honorable Mr. Krusee’s indescetion?

I’ll tell you why…because he is the epitome of Republican hypocrisy…an embarassment to his supporters, his constituents, and the voters that trusted him. A beer drinking common man can barely afford to fill his tank these days and does not have 5 bucks to ride on Krusee’s toll roads. His support for the Trans Texas Corridor, the NAFTA superhighway, has gotten him arrested by the KARMA POLICE.

As my momma taught me, “Do everything as you would have it known. Eventually, everything is known.”

Wilco’s turn for KARMA is just getting started.

Whoa hold on! I just attempted to look up Mr. Krusee’s arrest record on wilco.org, (under District Clerk, Judicial Search, Sheriff Jail Search.) HMMM. No record of Krusee’s arrest. That’s odd. A friend of mine’s son was picked up and arrested on a bogus charge, the charges were later dropped and yet you can STILL find his arrest record on there.

I believe you can verify that typically arrest information is available within HOURS of the arrest. (Not a theory I personally want to test) Hey, I don’t doubt at all that Krusee was arrested and spent the night in Williamson County Jail, I’m just wondering why this isn’t showing up under “Sheriff Jail Search.” HOWEVER, there is a record under “Sheriff Bond Search.” Should be one under “arrest” too. Wonder if he was cited for not having a current registration.

I’ve lived in WilCo 15 years. During this time I’ve learned that if you break the law, you better know somebody, be somebody or have $$$$.
