Come show your support for Diana Maldonado at the Southwestern University 52nd District Forum, Wednesday, October 8th. Here’s the information:

Southwestern University will host a forum for the candidates running for state representative in Dist. 52 on Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Red and Charline McCombs Campus Center ballrooms.

The event is being organized by students in Professor Gilbert St. Clair’s Media and Politics class at Southwestern, as well as students from the Young Democrats, College Republicans and SU Libertarians.

Three candidates – Democrat Diane Maldonado, Republican Bryan Daniel and Libertarian Lillian Simmons – are vying for the Dist. 52 seat being vacated by Mike Krusee. All three will participate in the forum.

District 52 covers most of Round Rock, all of Taylor, and the portion of Georgetown that is to the east of Interstate 35 (see map at http://www.house.state.tx.us/members/pdf/districts/52.pdf)

Audience members will be able to participate in the forum by submitting written questions to a panel of students. The candidates will have the opportunity to make opening and closing remarks.

The forum will be moderated by Emily Trube, the Williamson County reporter for KLBJ radio.

For directions to the campus center, visit www.southwestern.edu/tour/campus-map.pdf.

Mark your calendar for another great opportunity to come check out the candidates.
