WCDP begins search for Executive Director

Posted in Election 2010, Good Stuff, Williamson County at 7:20 pm by dembones

Two attendees to the Democratic national convention in August, one county commissioner candidate who narrowly missed unseating a Republican incumbent in November and two party activists have been selected to the first ever Williamson County Executive Committee Search Committee. The committee will hire an executive director to build the Democratic party’s organization in Williamson County.

On Thursday, January 8, the WCDP executive committee voted to create a full-time staff position for an executive director for the 2010 election cycle. The EC selected the first two members at that time and called for the remainder to be appointed tonight. County chair Richard Torres and MovingWilcoForward PAC treasurer Robert Jones were joined tonight by Larry Yawn, Mike Grimes, Al Lowenstein, Mark Schobinger and Leanna Terrell.

Upon seating the full committee, it held its first meeting at the party headquarters and set a goal of reporting to the EC in one month with the name of a recommended candidate.
