Boyd Richie to attend Williamson County Democratic Party Open House

The Williamson County Democratic Party is hosting an open house at their campaign office at 102 East Old Bowman Road, on Saturday, August 12 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Texas Democratic Party chairman Boyd Richie will be an honored guest and will provide an update on the state party’s recent court victory over Texas Republicans, expanded field staff, grass roots training programs and new online campaigning tools.

Williamson County Democratic Party chairman Richard Torres also welcomes Texas 31st Congressional district candidate Mary Beth Harrell, Texas Third Court of Appeals candidate John Coronado, State Representative District 53 candidate Karen Felthauser, State Representative District 20 candidate Jim Stauber, and County Commissioner Precinct 2 candidate Michael Hoffman.

Free appetizers and refreshments will be available. A silent auction and other fundraising activities are planned.

The office will serve as a focal point for Williamson County’s estimated 70 thousand Democrats and a store front for campaign-related signs, stickers, buttons and literature. The mostly volunteer staff coordinates grassroots activities from the office throughout the campaign, including voter registration, phone banking, block walking and event planning. Additionally, the office will serve as the primary point of contact for members of the press.

The official business of the party is conducted by a 55-member executive committee and is planned in 14 committees. Any interested Democrat is invited to participate in the committees, and representatives from each will be on hand to discuss the details.
