Looking for town hall meeting for an Austin area GOP members of Congress?

Well you won’t find one, at least not yet. Just a quick note to highlight the difference between Democrats and Republicans. Even after the “Astro Turf” protests against Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-Austin) he’s not hiding from his constituents. He’s been on TV making sure the record is set straight, and via the AAS, Doggett plans local events. But what about his Austin area GOP counterparts?

Reps. Michael McCaul, R-Austin, John Carter, R-Round Rock, and Lamar Smith, R-San Antonio, don’t have immediate Austin-area events scheduled, their offices said.

Since the GOP wants to keep the status quo, they probably don’t want to have to answer the people’s questions about their non-strategy to fix heatlh insurance. It’s time to Fight the Screamers: Show Up.

Recently appeared on “Congressman Carter’s” site.

Carter says he is continuing to seek constituent input on the proposal, and has scheduled public meetings in Salado on August 22 and in Sun City on August 28, along with numerous meetings with groups and organizations in the district over the August congressional recess.
