Remember The State Parks Issue?
Waiting for legislators’ talk on parks to turn into action.
Rick Perry is going back to the governor’s office, and he promised change. Speaker of the House Tom Craddick will return to Austin, and he too spoke of increased funding for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Legislative candidates pointed their fingers at the decaying state parks and historic sites and swore things would get better if they were sent to Austin.
Now, the votes have been counted, the winners announced.
They don’t have to make promises anymore; there is no guarantee they will keep the promises they made. Critics of the Texas Legislature say there’s a good chance they won’t.
